The Benefits of a Slow Cooker

If you're busy person you know how stressful it can be to come home and cook a meal for an entire family. You're exhausted and the last thing you want to do is cook anything, especially something substantial. You want to cook something that's healthy but if you waited until you got home from work, you're going to wait a long time before you eat something good. If you're looking for a solution to this problem, you can buy a slow cooker, because you can set it and forget it.

It will cook your food at low temperatures for a few hours and you'll be able to go to work, pick your kids up from the soccer game or run errands without having to think about what you're going to cook for dinner. A quick and easy recipe that takes five minutes of prep time is this:

Onion Soup Pot Roast:
1 8-12 ounce can of onion soup
5 pound pot roast
5 carrots
5 celery stalks

Salt and pepper the meat on both sides and braise it so it can produce a nice color and texture. Next, pop it in the slow cooker on medium or high. Chop up the carrots and celery and throw in the vegetables on top of the beef. Pour in the soup and set it.

This is a perfect recipe for those who are at work all day. The good thing about such cookers is that they help retain all the vitamins and nutrients in the food. Using this cooker is an effective way to not only produce a good meal but a healthy one, too.
