The 3 Best Ways to Grill Shrimp

• Light your fire and get the fire to a medium heat. Use only eco friendly firelighters and charcoal.

• You will need some skewers, grill utensils, chefs knives, vegetable oil, marinate and two kilos of frozen shrimps. Shell and devein the shrimps. Soak your skewers for 20 minutes in water, so that they won't burn on the grill.

• Skewer 3 to 4 shrimps from the tail to the head. Make sure you leave space, whereby people can hold the skewer. Once they have been placed on the skewer you can marinate then in a lemon and garlic or else a garlic and peri-peri sauce.

• When the fire is ready, oil the grill plate lightly with vegetable oil, so the shrimps don't stick. Place the skewered shrimps over the direct heat and grill for 1 or 2 minutes on one side and then for around 1 minute on the other side. If the shrimps are no longer translucent and are completely opaque they are ready.

• A wonderful marinade that can be used is a teaspoon of lemon juice and lemon peel, crushed garlic, 2 teaspoons of olive oil, salt and ground pepper. Herbs can also be added such as rosemary and basil, thyme and parsley.

Never over cook shrimp as it becomes tough quickly. Grilled shrimps can be served with wild rice and a fresh green salad. A masala mixture and fresh cream as marinate, gives the shrimps a real tang. Now that you know the 3 best ways to grill shrimps, all you need do is sit back and enjoy.
