Crab, that favourite seaside treat is enjoying a bit of a renaissance at the moment, and, coupled with the fact that it is a relatively sustainable species sales have increased by 54% over the past year.The celebrity chefs have done their bit of course, by championing crab as a "must have" ingredient, but this is no fad...crab is a real delicacy, and many of us are now feeling more adventurous and enjoying tackling the fun job of Dressing a Crab.
The Yorkshire Coast from Whitby and along to Scarborough and Filey is home to the delicious brown crab and a "nice ride out" to pick up a crab for tea has to be one of the highlights of Summer.
